UPSC Engineering Service Exam 2019 | 495 Posts | Last Date : 15 October 2019
UPSC IES 2019 – Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for Engineering Service Examination for the year 2019-20 for 495 vacancies. Candidates with the qualification of B.E/ B.Tech in the respective disciplines within the age limit of 21 to 30 can apply for this examination. The selection process is based on the Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Personality Test for the applied candidates. Eligible candidates can apply for this post online on or before 15 October 2019. The detailed eligibility and application process are given below.

Detailed Eligibility:
- Obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or
- passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or
- obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/ Institution and under such conditions as may be recognized by the Government for the purpose from time to time or
- passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) or
- passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India or
- passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November 1959
Age Limit (as on the 1st January 2020): 21 to 30 years ( i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2 January 1990 and not later than 1 January 1999). The relaxation as per govt policy.

Category I‐Civil Engineering.
Category II‐Mechanical Engineering.
Category III‐Electrical Engineering.
Category IV‐Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Category III‐Electrical Engineering.
Category IV‐Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
UPSC IES 2019 – ESE Selection Process:
The selection process is based on Written Examination & Personal Interview.
- Preliminary Exam (500 Marks)
- Main Exam (600 Marks)
- Personality Test (200 Marks)
IES Preliminary Exam:
The Preliminary exam consists of Paper I & Paper II for 500 Marks

Note: Excepting Female/ SC/ ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fees
Payment Mode: Candidates can pay the fees by any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking the facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit card
